Last October, my friend and I visited the “Fashion in France, 1947-1957” exhibit at the Palais Galleria (sorry, there were no photos allowed, more’s the pity because it was a stunning exhibit). When we exited, it was dusk, we were starving and wandered into the first cafe we came to…and, promptly exited because the waiter was insistent that we sit in the cold, drafty, smoke-filled enclosure. Non, merci.
We crossed the street and entered the very welcoming, Villa Sophia where we were immediately seated at a comfortable window table and thereafter doted on. The food (Italian) was delicious, the staff and the decor equally charming. So, merci to the inflexible waiter across the street!
